Thoroughly rinse off the modified parts to ensure no leftover debris has dried in the rings and seals, and then wipe them down with an alcohol-soaked rag to remove any moisture.
Use a heat gun
The next tool in your arsenal is a good quality heat gun. These are very useful for doing small jobs that require heating up or cooling down of materials. They are usually hand held and can be used to apply thermal paste, warm or cold liquids onto components, and even melt solid solder!
Heat guns work by using electricity to transmit energy into the surface of the component being worked with, thus altering the behavior of the material. This may mean melting something away, changing the shape or temperature of an element, or otherwise modifying the component’s function.

Use a blowtorch

Alternatively, you can use a good quality blow torch to burn away the glue. Make sure to wear protective goggles as well as heavy leather gloves to prevent any hot wax burning yourself!
Be careful not to over heat the coils or melt the spring, they will both break down and fail soon after that happens.
Use vice grips
The next tool you will need is something called a “vice grip” or more commonly known as a car puller. These are designed to easily lift heavy objects away from your vehicle.
You can get these at any automotive parts store, but make sure they are high quality brands that are sold directly from their site.
These tools cost around $20-30 depending on size and model, so they were definitely worth it!
Once you have yours, you will want to pick out whichever part of your coilover system you would like to use them on. To do this, you will firstly need to remove the spring seat covers. You then slide the lever off the top and under the body before lifting up the air compressor bag.
Then, using the puller, drag the part down towards you until it releases.
A very popular way to remove stubborn stuck parts is using oil or petroleum products as a solvent. If you use the right amount, it will work as soon as possible!
One of these oils that works well is called WD-40. This chemical was originally designed for engine maintenance, but people have since found many other ways to apply it. It can be applied directly onto the stick part in order to break down the glue or adhesive that is holding it together.
