building a community around cars
The Space Coast Mustang Club had its humble beginnings on August 27, 1981. Almost immediately after the Club was formed, members began participation in car shows. Club social events began very soon after. From the beginning, the Club held discussions on a national affiliation with the Mustang Club of America. Finally, in 1991, the Space Coast Mustang Club took that BIG step and was approved as a Regional group of the Mustang Club of America.
Each year the Club holds a variety of events... something for everybody! We have tours, rallies, cruise-ins, dinners, parades, picnics, etc. We even participate in the Merritt Island High School homecoming activities by driving the queen and her court around the football field in Mustang convertibles... their mascot is the mustang horse!
Throughout the years, the Club has helped make the community a better place by providing support to local charities. We have donated toys to "Toys for Tots", and we have assisted with D.A.R.E. in the public schools, as well as helping the Brevard Zoo get started. We now help out Brevard County by donating to the Sharing Center. In 1999, we made it to the Big Time! We hosted our first MCA National Show, the "Spaceport Blastoff" held at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and we've continued to host shows throughout the clubs rich history.
